Tattle Telling
This has become my life recently. Listening to tattling. I always knew I could never be an elementary school teacher but the last 3 weeks have just re-affirmed that thought. I have been watching Aly this summer while Jeff has been working. She and Kimberly are very hot and cold. Some moments they are playing fine and some they are literally at each others throats. I've walked into a room more than once to find them slapping and hitting or hands around each others necks trying to strangle. Some days I just want to pull my hair out! I am seriously beginning to think that I am crazy for having a 3rd child!
At church last week Kimberly had a lesson on David and Goliath. So when we got home I quizzed her to see how much had actually sunk in.
Robin: Kimberly, who was David?
Kimberly: He was a little boy.
Robin: Who was Goliath?
Kimberly: He was a great big giant man.
Robin: What happened between them?
Kimberly: They had a fight and David killed Goliath with a swing shot.
Robin: Who helped David kill Goliath?
Kimberly: Heavenly Father
Robin: So if Heavenly Father helped a little boy like David what do you think He could help
a little girl like you do?
Kimberly: KILL GREAT BIG SCARY MONSTERS!
I'm not sure what I expected. I was hoping for something deeper in that last answer, but she is only 3 after all. I guess I should be grateful for the reading/listening comprehension.
Lost the transmission in our car 2 weeks ago. Spent $3000 on the credit card between the fixing the car and renting one for a week while ours was in the shop. Good luck getting that paid off anytime soon. But I guess that is why I have a credit card. $3000 beats the $15,000+ it would have cost me to buy a new one.
Alan applied for a new position with the training department where he works. He got an interview which was a little surprising since he hasn't been there that long and his sales numbers aren't great. Found out that half of the floor where he works applied, but they are only decided to interview 9 people. That feels nice, even if he doesn't get the job because he must have gotten a pretty good recommendation from his boss to pull off getting an interview.
Other than that not much is new here. My back is killing me almost exponentially with each new day and I'm already starting to get swollen by the end of each day. Benjamin is still acting like a 2 year old (who has decided that they are too old to nap) and Kimberly is still acting like a 14 year old. And since I started this post Aly has been in 4 times to tattle, although the 2nd time she stared, I gave her a look and then she ran out of the room without finishing. Maybe they are finally catching on. By the time we have a system down, summer will be over.

I'm here to tell you that yes, two-year olds are way too old for naps. But if they do end up falling asleep, it is perfectly acceptable to stay up until midnight. Good luck getting through the summer!
Good luck getting through that! I'm sorry about your back hurting...hopefully it won't continue throughout the whole pregnancy. Crossing my fingers for you :)
