Benjamin insists that he doesn't need naps anymore. Yet, amazingly, around 5:30 or 6:00 pm every day he falls asleep on the couch while watching a movie. Usually he falls asleep sitting straight up, then as the slumber deepens, he falls over on his side as pictured. I hate it when kids think that they don't need to nap anymore. Why can't they just appreciate the freedom to sleep in the middle of the day. There isn't a mommy in the world who wouldn't take at least a short nap daily if the opportunity was given. SIGH!
Usually I record interesting Kimberly conversations, but today I'll throw in a Benjamin conversation. I was asleep soundly this morning when he burst into my room happy and excited. We had the following conversation.
Benjamin: MOM, MOM!
Robin: What?
Benjamin: basdflkjgoidfakjhasjdhlkjhdsfjkhlkasdf - JOSH.
Robin: What?
Benjamin: basdfljhosid;kljansdf;oijasdfj;lkjasdlfk; - JOSH.
Robin: Josh?
Benjamin: Yeah! lsidfuoinasldfkjuoiansdflkjoiand - JACKIE.
Robin: Josh and Jackie?
Benjamin: Yeah! laskdjfoinsdfknlkaweroinhdsfjhk - PARK!
Benjamin: lkdsjfoiansdflkjajowiehrtknasldkfjnoiah - SWIMMING!
Robin: You want to go swimming at the park with Josh and Jackie?
Benjamin: Yeah! Yeah!
I used to think that I was fluent in "Benjamin". And I was when he was speaking one or two words at a time. I understood about 90% of what he said. Now that he speaks in multiple sentences at a time I am only getting about 25% of it. It is just a bunch of garbeldy-goo mixed in with an audible word here and there. He obviously knows what he is saying and gets very frustrated when I don't, which is often. Hopefully that doesn't last too long.
The belly picture is Me, my sister Kelly and my Dad going from smallest to biggest. I am surprisingly the smallest and Dad is the biggest. However, he is in the process of trying to loose some weight so hopefully he won't be the biggest much longer. As long as I'm not the biggest I guess I don't care who is! :)
