Make Up and Trampolines

So much for my New Year's resolution! It has been well over 2 weeks since I have updated this. In my defense, I have felt terribly the past couple of months. Mostly I just lay around on the couch trying not to throw up. I am 12 weeks today though so maybe I'll get lucky and the sickness will stop soon. But enough with the complaining. The few of you who read this don't want to hear me complain. You want to hear amusing stories about things my crazy kids say and do. Well I am happy to oblige.

Last week I was checking my email and I locked myself in the office because the kids just come in and push buttons on the computer. I left them in the living room watching cartoons. 15 minutes later I walked out to find that 15 minutes is all those two need to get into a lot of trouble. They had stolen my make up from the bathroom and decided to decorate their faces. Kimberly insists that Benjamin did her face. I am sure this was a lie in effort to keep her out of trouble. But if it is in fact true that Benjamin did her make up then I am impressed. He might have a future as "make up artist to clowns, or maybe even Octo-mom". It took a fair amount of scrubbing to get the lipstick off of them.

For some reason, the past 2 weeks or so Kimberly has been insisting that she wants a BIG trampoline for the back yard. I'm not sure where she got this idea because she hasn't been on a trampoline since we left Utah. But she asks almost daily for one. Finally I told her that we can't have a trampoline because there is no grass in our back yard. If she fell off a trampoline into the rocks, she would get hurt really bad. Then a few days after this conversation I made a comment that we needed to spray the back yard because it had been raining and our "desert landscape" is starting to grow grass. (As seen in the above picture. If we don't do something soon it's going to overtake the house!) Kimberly started freaking out....NO! NO! Don't spray the grass!!!! She had this horrified look on her face. I asked her why not and she told me that "When the grass grows everywhere then she could have a BIG trampoline!" Sneaky girl! If I didn't know any better, I'd think that she was praying for grass.

Kids are sneaky. I love it when Kat gets creative and starts putting make-up on. I love the comment about ocot mom - she is a bit scary (to me at least).

Good luck with the morning illness.
