Santa is Watching!

We were at the mall last week and Kimberly wanted to go see Santa. The last two years she had a complete meltdown when she had to sit on Santa's lap. But this year she promised there would be no tears or screams. I told her when she sat on Santa's lap she needed to tell him what she wanted for Christmas so that he could bring her a present. Then I asked her if she knew what she wanted for Christmas? The following conversation took place:

Robin: "Do you know what you want to ask Santa for Christmas?"
Kimberly: "Oh yes!"
Robin: "What?"
Kimberly: "I want Ariel!"
Robin (to herself): "Oh crap, that isn't what Santa is bringing her!"
Robin (out loud): "You don't want Ariel! Wouldn't you rather have a trampoline?"
Kimberly: Long pause, contorted thinking face, wonderous excitement face, "Oh yes, a trampoline!"

Kimberly then proceeded to ask Santa for a trampoline without shedding a single tear or squeaking a single scream. A Christmas miracle! Though as you can see from the picture I'm not sure that the experience was very pleasant for her. FYI, she is getting a small exercise trampoline so that she will stop jumping on my couch. I'm pretty lucky that my little trick worked. Next year, I should probably ask her what she wants from Santa BEFORE I shop for it!
I am also pretty lucky that Kimberly is now old enough to use Santa as leverage. Whenever she is acting awful I just remind her that Santa is watching and if she wants a trampoline for Christmas she must be nice and do exactly as I say. December has been wonderful. What on earth shall I do for the other 11 months of the year?

FYI, I feel like Chevy Chase in Christmas Vacation. I have had to vow not to put up more lights. I went through a phase for about a week where each night I would look at the exterior of my home and decide that it just wasn't enough. So I would add another strand somewhere. I know it doesn't look like a lot of lights, but I only have one outlet outside. I am afraid If I put up any more I'll light my house on fire! Just wait until next year, maybe I'll line the roof!

Also just to explain the other picture, apparantly Benjamin want's a computer for Christmas!
Sneaky little turd! HEHE

I still use "Santa is watching" to Brian every now and then. I have stopped asking what he wants and just buying what I want him to have. That's how "good" of a wife I am.

Kids are still adorable and the Christmas card/letter was great!
