Moving Day!

It's almost here! The new carpet comes tomorrow so tonight we will be pulling an all nighter trying to get the painting finished and the old carpet pulled out. After that, we will finish up the cleaning on tuesday night and wednseday day, then hopefully we can spend wednesday night moving stuff in. We promised Kimberly yesterday that she could eat breakfast at the new house next Sunday. You wouldn't think that at 2 1/2 she would understand, but she seems to. She always asks to to to "the new house" and gets upset when we leave.

Oh, FYI. For those of you who don't know, Alan was laid off again last Monday. His company decided to shut down the whole Arizona opperation. This time he didn't get two weeks for them to re-think. He and everyone else were escorted out on Monday afternoon. When I came home from subing and he was there and told me what happened, I wasn't surprised. I'm used to it by now. Sad huh?

Cute Kimberly story. We went shopping for an Easter dress. I picked out a cute one with these abstract flowers. They had a dot in the middle and for leaf like shapes comming off of the dot. They spaced evenly, you know at North, South, East and West. Anyway, I asked her:

"Do you you like this pretty dress with the flowers?"
To which she crumpled up her face deep in thought and then replied
"No, those aren't flowers, they're ceiling fans!"

She said it so matter of factly and she just stared at me. If I could have read her mind I am sure I would have discoverd that that she was thinking to herself, "DUH! Are you a flippin retard mom? Don't you recognize a ceiling fan when you see one?" The funny thing is that she was right. They actually look more like ceiling fans than flowers. So now we refer to it as the ceiling fan dress. That seems to satisfy her.
