I know I need to write an update about all the crazy stuff that happened to us in the month of January. So within the next few days. But this was so cute I decided it was worthy of it's own entry.
Last night at about 3 or 4 am, Kimberly came into our room. She wasn't crying but she seemed upset. She was very insistent "I want to lay on the bed, I want to snuggle with Daddy." Since she was a bit shaken we humored her and plopped her up on the bed. She laid there for a minute and then started asking this question over and over. At first I couldn't understand what she said but when I figured it out I was blown away. Alan had fallen asleep so I woke him. The conversation went as follows.
Robin: "Alan, aren't you going to answer her?"
Alan: "What.....hmm.....did she say something?"
Robin: "Yes, she asked you a question."
Kimberly: "Daddy, is Jesus my Savior?"
LONG PAUSE.......
Alan: "Yes Kimberly, Jesus is your Savior."
Kimberly: "I love Jesus."
SHORT PAUSE......
Kimberly: "Daddy are your arms ok?"
Alan: "Yes my arms are ok."
Kimberly: "You have happy arms!"
Then she was quiet and we got up and put her back in bed. Sometimes she says things that are so grown up. I doubt she knows what the word "Savior" means. I certainly haven't tried to explain it to her. But she used the word in the right context. Of course other times she uses phrases like "happy arms" and I am reminded that she is only 2. This just goes to show that your kids are always listening.
