Oh the JOYS of Motherhood!

I got off track from keeping this updated when we left on vacation in June, but now I promise to be good. Everyone is doing well. Benjamin is getting big and starting to smile a lot. Kimberly talks like a big girl now. She loves to sing and dance. The other day in the car she started in....... A happy a know, a silly so, a happy a know, cap a hands! For those of you who don't understand 1 year old speak, that's "if you're happy and you know it, then you're face will surely show it, if you're happy and you know it clap your hands". She's big on all songs that have actions and very good at the action part.

Yesterday morning I woke up and went to get Kimberly. As I approached her room there was a foul odor seeping out her door. I walked in, and there was Kimberly, happy as a clam, covered head to toe in poop! She had taken off her diaper which was just about the only place that there wasn't much poop and was playing with a constipated lump like it was a ball of play-dough. On her tummy, hands, under fingernails, butt, legs, on the floor, wall, door, dresser, dirty laundry and laundry basket, mattress and pillow (which by the way had no pillow case or sheet - guess that's what I get for being lazy). Needless to say I was furious! I had to put her in the shower and scrub poop out of parts that should NEVER contain poop. I had to clean her mattress the best I could and then flip it over, but her pillow was toast! (washing pillows doesn't work to well) I even had to scrub poop out of the cracks in the hard wood floor. I am eternally grateful at this point that her room doesn't have carpet. Oh the joys of Motherhood!

Kimberly is a good big sister. She tries to be gentle and wants to be very helpful by feeding the baby or changing his diaper. When I don't let her she just does it to her baby doll. Usually with real wipes and diapers. And she loves to clean - everything but her toys. She often dumps her water out when eating so that she can get the towel and clean it up. Or dumps her food because she wants to sweep it. It drives me nuts but how do you discipline a child who just wants to clean? Twisted world!

I re-decorated my front rooms lately and am in the process of re-doing my bedroom. I put pictures up on-line so that I could audition for a show on HGTV called Design Star. I'm sure I won't get picked, but it is still fun to see what people have to say. I have had some really rude comments and some nice/constructive ones. I sometimes think that professional designers are pretty snobby. I'm sure they don't generally have the task of decorating a whole room with items that you have found at the DI. But if you haven't already you should go see my pictures and give me a 5 star rating cuz you love me so much. Go to HGTV.com then click on the design star page. On that page there is an audition button. Go to the gallery of auditions. Mine is titled "thrift store magic" and the thumbnail is a black and white picture of me.

Kimberly is still making me laugh...all the way in Houston.

I think Jaedyn is coming any day now, at least Makana sure hopes so with all the contractions.
